Catching Google’s Secret Indexer

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Yes, I finally managed to catch one of Google greatest secret: the indexer. You all have gotten it all wrong. Their indexer is not Google Bot, it is called Zeitgeist.

It is actually a heavenly creature. A hand-grab sized mosquito-like nastiness. It doesn’t have a needle like mouth, instead it has a small but long non sharp beak. It flies fast although not as fast as those quidditch ball. Does it have a tail. Hmm I can’t tell got sure. When I grab it on my hand, it’s tail is no longer there. But as I can recall, it suppose to have one. A desctructive beam-tentacle shaped tail, as one you can see in Evangelion’s 5th angel.

I catched it all right in my very hand, but this bloody nasty creature managed to lose itself from its cage — a soft drink can (no brand was suffice) — during a press release party. This Zeitgeist for some unexplainable issue has shown me a malnutrition issue, depicted as single mother cooking a roasted chicken using a traditional stone stove and woods.

After its escape, this creature start taking revenge to all person responsible for its captivity by bumping into their back with its dull long beak. Ouch ouch!

At least that’s how my dream went last night. A crazy one.

PS:

  • I recently involved with search feature implementation. Redesign schema, reindex, fix population script, fix synchronization script. Rinse and repeat.
  • I watched Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone before going to bed (expect the review soon)
  • Sorry, today should have been (still) music related post

Where the web is going?

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

I haven’t found anything interesting to write, yet. And my recent post doesn’t seem to reap any answer.

So, here is my version of “the future of web”.

Semantic (and natural language) will be here soon.

Desktop will move to web. One tool for each task will be the trend. A suite won’t be a bloated app, instead will be a configurable mashup a la user. Your browser will be your ultimate enterprisey app!

Cloud computing for everyone, as easy as blogging today. Hadoop will be the next wave, dan cloud computing pun tak akan jadi dominasi Google dan Amazon. Not even Detik ;) .

Social network will go even mainstream, and even granular than what you ever think of. It will be so seamless that every activity you do is social :) . Yes, cloud computing can be as easy as making group in social network. So that you can add IBM as your friend to use their computing power.

Expects more freemium.
