    Is Content Really The King

Is content really the king? Why my shiny post doesn’t have any comments? Google this and you’ll find many answers.

SearchEngineWatch said, content is important because of three primary reasons:

    • Engages the reader
    • Increases search engine rankings and traffic
    • Promotes the likelihood of quality links from other sites

Indeed, good content will attract readers. Even without a dedicated keyword the content itself will be on top of search result list as people has been craving for them. And because people like it, eventually they will link or share it.

Blogsessive said content is the king without kingdom. To be a true king, he will need a kingdom and a court of jester. The kingdom would be the site, how appealing and how engaging it is. And the court’s jester would be an endless promotion. Either via (social) networking, or SEO.

MangoAddict said content is the king, and delivery is the queen. Delivery is how you crown the content so it will be a real king. This will includes many design guidelines.

But it may not be the whole truth. Problogger said, even a great content still need a writer with mojo, luck, trust, expertise/authority, and charisma. This is true. I mean why do you read scobleizer, copyblogger, blogsessive, and problogger. Each of them has at least one attributes I write within my former sentence.

While InfectiousDigital say, business model is the real king. No matter how good and bad your contents are, what matter is how you make use of them. A lame business model is no good for a golden content.

    So, how ah?

It’s a complex world. It takes many variables to become a sucessful site (or business).

However, I still believe that content is the central of everything you build things surrounding it. You are not a king without a citizen :)

So make your work known… good presentation… good service…. and everyone should be happy. :) Good luck!

Indeed, the are many beliefs on what makes a site successful. Some said it’s the content, some other said it’s the community, and there’re also saying what matter is who you are and who you know.

I’m questioning my belief and your belief to seek the ultimate answer of this question ;)

    Cerpenista: Microblogging Evolution

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Pertama kali menengok cerpenista, saya merasa”this is something!”. Walaupun ada beberapa group yang menarik seperti Fabelia (I was thinking it would be as interesting as unspeakable creatures in Harry Potter like story), atau Jayustisia (berlomba-lomba menjadi jayus). Tetap saja saya masih susah memulai.

Saya janji ;)

walah – walah.. wawancara tinggal ngesot.. lol

Memang ujung2nya jadi bcanda, tapi yang penting having fun with community :-D

Be The New King in Podcasting Land

Talkshoe.com, and again my blood screaming to motivate me: go podcast again! Well, I did two short podcast a while ago. Dunno why I forgot to record more.

I lies :p. I actually has some topics I can record, but I was to shy to show you my voice :D . Or simply, Jakarta isn’t condusive enough to (force me) podcasting. Well, that’s a stupid reason I must change soon. But let it be my issue. Let’s talk something interesting, why podcast and why didn’t people start it here in Indonesia.

The minority of podcaster itself is a sign. Podcasting haven’t been tested yet. Nobody knows the actual verdict of how success can a podcaster be. It may just waiting the next celebrity-candidate to bring it to the glamour stage. Could it be you?

Podcast is portable. Podcast is repeatable. Podcast has some distinct characteristic compared to regular online/offline text. Podcast is more personal as you can really feel the authoor through his/her voice. Podcast is intimate as the author can whisper directly to your ear. Podcast is more controllable than reguler text as audience need no more to imagine how the author would pronounce his/her story.

Then why there’s a few or even now regular podcaster in Indonesia?

As usual, bandwidth is the first class suspect. Podcast tends to consume more bytes than text. A merely short podcast can take a few MB already. And for some people, a few MB is even not worth waiting.

Second suspect? Lazyness, as you can read in my early paragraf. I think this one is somewhat similar to blogging.

Third suspect? People really doesn’t feel like podcast is appropriate for publishing. Either it’s simply not effective or technically too challenging.

Now, do you feel like invading this no-man-land of podcasting? Do you want to be the king? I repeat, do YOU want to be the king?!
