What is blogging (for me)?

Blogging defines me. It was a long ago before blogging culture came. You were define by what people think of you, what people want to define you, with whatever they claimed to know about you. Blogging brings a new game to the table. Blogging provide us a balancing tool. It’s no longer about what they think of us, but more to what they know and what we communicate to them about what and who we are.

It is interesting to listen last night. About whether Blogging is dead. One reason behind this statement is the absence of famous blogger from their former text and picture blogging platform into audio and video. A question suddenly appear whether blogging is really as powerful as what it has been talking about so far. Echo chamber is put as a suspect for blinding us with bouncing hype among ourselves, the blogging community (Andry S Huzain, FreSh 3.0)

A counter opinion suggest that the statement must be put into proper context. I found it has some point as assuming blogging is dead can also be considered echo chamber effect. The provided example of blogging is dead was more fitting US market, while significant growth can still be seen in Asia. (Budi Putra, FreSh 3.0)

Well, to be fair, echo chamber or not can be tested via a well prepared research. Indeed, a context need to be specified. It’s all relative. It’s not done until it’s done.

Meniru itu salah!

Semua yang tidak orisinil salah. Padahal Google juga tidak orisinal, tapi kita tak pernah bilang dia salah. Lain halnya jika Microsoft membuat produk baru. OMG, label copy cat pasti akan segera dilekatkan di jidat mereka.

Apa yang salah dengan meniru. Mungkin yang salah adalah cara meniru dan bukan pilihan meniru. Meniru adalah langkah pertama dalam proses belajar. Seperti halnya bayi yang meniru orang tua. Pada akhirnya, saat dewasa, mereka akan menentukan untuk kembali meniru orang tua atau belajar dari sejarah dan kemudian membuat sejarah tersendiri. Akan tetapi selalu saja, dan selalu berulang, dimulai dari proses meniru.

As a side note, this is one draft I’ve never managed to complete. It didn’t reside long in my docs. I’m either tired or furious today. I’m feeling like bloggin something so I guess I’m gotta use this stored draft to feed my whatever. My furiosity negates the positive point I want to deliver here, but well, you can dig it yourself if you really want to. Full is empty, empty is full.

The New Beginning

Finally One Post Per Day is done. A trully cruel month for my lazy brain. Actually I want to close the month with a regular post, but the bandwidth issue and what not has ruin the finish line. I’m going to be easy on this one.

All the previous entry of One Post Per Day campaign can be viewed from One Post Per Day category. Three post per page, which is not pleasant. I hope I can set different post per page for different page. But for this momonet, please bear with it :) .

I bought FastCompany and Inc.com magazine the other day. It’s pretty interesting as I’m very curious about FastCompany mag. The site has been pleasant as the engagement aura is quite high. Their UI is nice if not awesome. It’s just too bad that there’re not many online business discussed in the current FastCompany mag. What satify me better was the Inc.com special issue, of 5000 best company list, spreade in 10 categories. It’s also interesting to read about what CEOs had to say about a given question.

The “what do you want to be when you grow up?” is one of the question being asked by CEO during recruitment. So I think I’m pretty safe here. I meant, I must have a lot of friend who still doesn’t know what they want to be in the future. Hahahaha. No, I think we’ll gonna find out ourself where we want to go. All we need to do is to be excell in every task we do. Then we can go anywhere from there.

M’kay. I’ll see you in another chance. Hopefully in a brand new site, with brand new friends and vast topic to talk about. Until then, keep posting!
