Talk is cheap, show me the code
All kind of (software) project shares common pitfalls, however these ones are specific to open-sourced project. Too many mockups, thinking too big are two you can found in common. Actually I’ve shared this in my GReader, but hey who read my shared feed anyway :p. You can found the list bookmarked in reddit as well. There’re also comments there, though not much, to add on what you can read in Ariya’s post.
What about KDE? Do you find many mockups? Hell a lot, no? Fortunatelly, many of the mockups are already dreams come true. Plasma is a great example of it.
Do you feel like my post is kinda pointless and futile to serve any purpose other than sharing the list? You are not alone my friend.
PS:
Uh oh, and if you believe opensource is all about democracy, I think you need to change your mind ;).

This section gives me most headache. But experience told me that this blog mostly contains personal ramblings related to daily life, open source, and web 2.0. Recently, it turns out to be an idea-box where you can found ideas you can execute in your new startup ;). My ideas and opinions are not bullet proof and never intended to be one way stream. Kindly participate to improve your and my perspective regarding any particular post. Welcome aboard and enjoy your stay

@stwn
