- libfreetype.la does not exist. WTF, it should have been provided by freetype-devel package. Fuck it, I only got libfreetype.so.
OMFG, WTF!. I should have chosen clean install. Darn low space issue.
Upgrading Fedora Core 4 to Fedora Core 6
Finally I made the decision to upgrade my current FC4. Quite adventurous but I’ll kepp it short: I made it using NFS ‘way’. I made a new boot entry, using vmlinuz and initrd image copied from a FC6 ISO. Booted my machine, and pick the install from NFS. Setup my IP and the NFS share, then went through usual update stages.
My KDe was borked. But solved by installing gcc-3.4 compat packages. FC6 comes with gcc 4.1 libs stock, I read it on mjmwired. There’s still 600 packages not upgraded, obvisouly will be my homework. Some apps were removed during apt-get install –fix-broken. Will catch up later, using trial and error method (read: do daily activity and install as necessary)
Yup, that’s it. No fancy tricks.
Another (silly) wish
Somehow, I just cannot forget what I’ve seen few weeks ago: RC car, and RC helicopter. OMG, now they are on my wishlist. Hmm, I wonder wether I can buy it next month. Darn, budget is so damn tight.

If I were to look into the future…
You probably have known how much I adore web 2.0 spirit. I’ve just gain a pretty retarded insight tonight. You know, it would have been no longer web 2.0 when I’ve reach the required level to jump into the band wagon. So, if I were to look into the future, I should correct my vision now. Should be something more abstract, not quite real, less specific but also have room to grow. Yeah, that’s look a deep shit for me :p. Oh, look just how I love to put myself into some sort of challenges. Like I have more room to put another stuff into my brain. Totally a moron :))
Kenapa?
Kenapa tiba-tiba tulisan saya hilang? Apakah tadi saya menekan tombol delete, alih-alih tombol publish. Apakah kepala saya terlalu pusing hari ini. Sampai-sampai saya tidak ingat apa yang baru saja saya lakukan.
Seebanrya tadi sudah menulis tentang kepala saya yang sakit pagi ini. Entah akibat resistensi atau dejavu. Sayang tulisan dua paragraf pendeknya hilang. Padahal saya sudah lupa rincian kecilnya, walaupun sangat sedikti sebenarnya. Intinya, hari ini tidak seperti biasnaya, entah karean resistensi atau dejavu. Atau saya terllau serious,a tau malah kurang serious sehingga hanya bsia mencerna informasi secara dangkal.

Infosys Outage?
Tulisan ini sengaja saya taruh di sini juga, meskipun juga sudah saya post di internal forum, demi meraup audiens yang lebih banyak. So, gomen ne, buat yang merasa de javu 
GigaOm menulis tentang gejolak perubahan iklim IT yang terjadi di India, ditandai dengan churn yang terjadi di Infosys. Bagi dunia IT, seringkali dipercaya bahwa turnover tinggi adalah suatu kewajaran. Tapi tentu saja ini tidak bisa ditelan mentah-mentah, tetap saja diperlukan suatu analisa sebelum bisa memaklumi turnover.
Poinnya apa? Banyak. Tergantung sejauh mana mau menyikapi.
- Yang paling simple, ternyata juga sudah jadi pendapat umum bahwa untuk bertahan dan stay competitive, companies have to be bright and best.
- Mengelola outsource company ternyata tidak semudah yang dibayangkan [:p], apalagi dalam mega company seperti Infosys. Eh, Infosys itu outsource company kan?
- India is not all that cool. Ini bukan rasis lo. Hanya sekedar motivator untuk kepercayaan diri. Baca juga blognya didats (lagi down, dan lupa sepertinya dia nulis di sideblog yang gk ada permalinknya!) tentang resistensi programmer india terhadap teknologi baru (baca: CSS).

Music Station Special Live
Though it was only a re-run of Music Station Special Live from Christmas show, I was stunned. I have never watch 43 artists in a row, further more in live format. The long 4 hours really worth it. Though sometimes I felt like watching some kinda “over-quota boy band” show, I still can notice the legends in between. Kinki Kids celebrating their 10th anniversary, SMAP (I don’t think they have good voices, especially the copilot from Good Luck!!!. I may be wring, I’m nto an audiophile :p) celebrates their 15th years! B’z is actually quite old, but rocks so much, and already well known for its blasting stage performance, literally. There’s also YUI, GLAY, an OST from new Ghibli movie (with the dragon thingy), Koda Kumi singing Yume No Uta, and Hamasaki-san singing JEWEL. Those two female singers is what I was waiting for. Nope I’m not a fan of BoA, though I like her Inuyasha OST, Heart no Kimochi (Every heart).
Kummi-chan voice is just as stunning as what I can always listen in my Amarok playlist, so does Hamasaki-san. I wonder Hikki doesn’t have much luck in 2006, thus cannot join the live :p. Or she may have been busy doing show somewhere else.
Sugoi, it was a really interesting experience. And it will be even omoshiroi since Animax will air Music Station regularly in March. Kyaaaa!!! ^_^ Uh Oh, Initial D and Onimusha in somming soon also in Animax. I’ll be looking forward for them, though I’m afraid I’ll be quite dissappointed since I cannot enjoy it in original language. Yare yare. It just can’t be helped, sadly.
