Painting the sky
My fave shot this afternoon. South sky. Such a blinding blue :). Taking good picture with this CX 7330 has been quite frustrating. I found these simple tutorial to be interesting:
Tough day
I’ve officially assigned to new project, so I’ve expected that my development session orientation will be changed a bit. I may put more focus and energy into some PHP code, instead of C++ as what had happened these few days.
First goal is scratching my own itch, refactoring some codes that worth refactoring. And .. hmm, I guess refactoring will be my energy consuming task. Lucky me, I love refactoring :D.
*Sigh* Today is a quite short day. Unbelievably, it’s 16.46 already :). Office hours has ended. What’s left is a drained body. Yup, today is a tough day. Hold on tight, dear. You can make it, I know you can. This is just another colorful day of our life :).
It’s raining outside. Hahaha, like I’m bothered with it. I’m not going home anyway :P. I don’t feel like coding anything. Not in the past and next 10 minutes, I suppose :p. Ah well, let’s post this :p.
Building my first RPM package
Have you ever built any rpm package before? Nope? Try reading this blog entry, and we’ll see if you are capable of building one afterward
.. Oh c’mon, don’t be so pesimistic :p

Kbfx Changelog 2005/01/23
Yep, another kbfx updates. This time we have:
- better path handling (support relative and absolute path) for pixmap file
- user pixmap works (finally). will smooth scales given pixmap
- fixed theme list combobox usability bug (no need to refresh on app start)
Bug:
- modifying app list font color doesn’t affect apply button thus changes can’t be saved. work around, re-toggle other thing like the checkbox to enable apply button
- broken preview (dammit)
Another kbfx update
Now, I start running out kbfx related title. Maybe next update will be a plain “Kbfx Changelog: insert_date_here”. :p
So, if I may call this 0.4.8.1, we already have a nice configuration dialog. The vistabar has a new layout. category list and application list are now can be placed on a certain (x, y) coordinate. And its dimension can be managed via width and height. There is also option for font and color. Category list can have custom font and color, and a custom selected item color (no custom selected font). User picture have some flexibility as well, It can be placed and managed the way category and application list behave.
There are still bugs though. I haven’t fully polished the theme list combobox. So you need to click the refresh button to update available theme stored in theme folder. user picture has also bug, I can’t figure out yet why it always has a small size and a blank image. The config seems to be ignored. I’ll sort this thing soon, I hope :D.
Okay, let’s see screenshots now ![]()

Around KDE
I’ve been wondering around the subject of optimizing KDE. Yes, sometimes for some people (256MB RAM, Celeron 2GHz) KDE can be sluggish. I noticed the performance will goes down (CPU hogging) whenever I have Akregator, or KMail, and sometimes Amarok. Please bear that this is a personal sense based on non scientific reasoning. I have a suspicion that the CPU hog have something to do with List related widget (and I call recall, Aseigo has mentioned somewhere that some Qt List widget has performance issue — but it was treeview, CMIIW). Other suspicion comes from the sorting process involved wthin the app. best example can be found within Akregator. try clicking on a feed item in the tree. You’ll then notice the degradation of system responsiveness, for a few secs. Performance degradation can be measured with the obviously lagging mouse respond, and other component of the desktop (KWin, Panel, etc).

The best spot to look for fun
Maybe I’ve been wrong all this time. I should be expecting any fun comes out of any office load. I’ve should turn my head around, to the buzzes where all the “put the fun back into computing” from.
I heard you. Cut that crap of mind power. I don’t want to hear any, not atm.
Maybe, being a boring horse at day and turning into crazy monkey or Llama during the night will be much interesting and satisfying.
And now, it’s Llama time to do some monkey business!!
PS:
You are really a jackass if you don’t know the best spot to look for fun.
Quick Recap
Jadinya mungkin harus mempelajari special trick biar bisa make the most of it. Read more
KDevelop, a very long time start up
Since a crash, happened around yesterday, my kdevelop has always need a very unpleasant long time of start up. I’ve tried to remove all kind of related rc files in ~/.kde/share/config/kdevelop. I’ve even hopelessly remove kdevelop via apt-get remove and then installing back. But it was futile. Anyone has any clue? I hate waiting for hours until all widget are shown and kdevelop is ready for work.

Update:
You can resolve this problem by removing all kind of docplugin and doxyplugin rcs within ~/.kde/share/config/. There are like 5 or 6 files. Move them and test your KDevelop. Goodluck ![]()
