Talk is cheap, show me the code
Just read the open letter to Microsoft regarding the rumours about IE7. And a chat with my friend, a few minutes ago has given me a conclusion.
Why would we follow IE? If IE doesn’t comply the standard we must not let ourself hack the CSS to obtain teh same experience may happen on standard-suporting-browser. Creating CSS hack for IE means you are supporting the unstandard, the outlaws, to be used on and on.
I remember Google, with its idea on GMail. Gmail will give us a basic HTML if we browse it using unsupported browser. I have the idea of implementing the same policy to IE. Why don’t we give IE a basic html page, and let the bells and whistles goes to standard-supporting browser.
This way we can campaign and force IE and IE user to be aware of and respect standard.
Let’s give IE basic HTML!
