my3530 - It’s sucks yeah
No it’s not about 3530, oh well, mybe it’s partialy correct :p.
Well, it’s for real my application name. A utilty lack of features :p. It is currently, _about_to_, supporting reading SMS from my 3530, using gammu library. It was stated “about to”, since I’ve troubles in connecting the slot to the clicked signal for the refresh button, and the other button as well. Hmmm, maybe I have to make regenerate the .moc
The planned feature for 0.1 (gee, I’m starting making promises :p) is SMS reading (yes, reading not management with archiving and etc), and .. eh, I thing one feature is enough :p ..
I made this utility since it 3530 is not supported by kmobiletool, and kammu is frozen (gossips are thery about to join forces with kmobiletools). So I have to code my own util, SMS for an appetizer. Maybe a file explorer will be the next, oh wait, a kioslave! That would be definitely cool!

KDE 3.4 RC1
Read from planet KDE.
So, what we’ll see here is Aaron Seigo’s new icon effect (no zooming, instead, we’ll see halftone-ing effect). More, new KDE logo, and wallpaper. New logout dialog with sleeping KDE dragon .. “settings” protocol, as mentioned and favorable by Ariya… and maybe other nice things I haven’t know.
But, I’m very sorry, I need to spell this out. Not that I don’t appreciate what KDE team and the community has done. It’s a great job, a really cool one. But too bad, don’t like the current K button. It’s just too .. nineties? square-ish .. I personally love the K without the round square box .. Guess I’ll wait other K button alternative .. gotta hunt on kde-look, Or made one myself .. uh oh .. I’m sure it gonna turn out as mess. :p
Ketemuan ma anak-anak KPLI Jogja
Iya, baru sekali ini ketemuan ma anak-anak KPLI Jogja. Dari dulu cm denger organisasinya, alhamdulilah barusan saja punya kesempatan ketemu ma orang-orangnya ..
Kesan pertama, hmmm, Willy sudah lebih gemuk daripada foto yang pernah aku lihat di Infolinux 
.. Akhirnya ketemu juga ma orang-orang yang berada di balik nick-nick yang muncul di jogja.kpli.or.idjogja.linux.or.id .. Ngobrol ngalur ngidul .. membahas bebrapa agenda menarik: bikin film indie, spanduk, kurikulum .. wah rame juga idenya ..
Paling terkesan mungkin sama mbak Erni, yang jauh-jauh datang dari Solo .. busyet, patut diajungi jempol buat semangatnya!
*Sigh*. Du, lumayan pegel, yang jelas laper neh .. Gotta get going, masih harus masukin ngurusin laundry-an ke jakal ..

Gak tahu mesti kasih judul apa. Hmm, tadi pagi rencananya sih mau bawa source code hasil maen-maen dengan gammu untuk diteruskan di kantor. udah lama sih source-nya, bebrapa waktu yang lalu. Isinay tentang percbaan mengakses SMS di 3530 tersayang dgn librari Gammu. Maunya diintegrasikan dengan kammu yang sepertinya lagi frozen. Mau start the whole thing dari awal, I mean .. buat UI sendiri, de el el, pokoknya from the scratch deh. Ahh, kayaknya terlalu lama. maunya langsung melengkapi Kammu saja, tapi ya itu .. hehe, ribet juga, mungkin karena belum gitu terbiasa dengan Qt.
Ada pikiran neh, barusan, mau bikin from scratch tapi lebih organized. Kalo gammu kok aku liatnya kyk back to Delphi dengan segala macam procedural programming, without no custom classes. Kayak fill the event with your procedure. Hehehe, nyepelin banget sih aku.
Kammu is great, udah sampe explore file .. tapi masih bayak yang blm terpenuhi fiturnya. Masih terlalu banyak.
Mmm, should get myself back to my dorm. Boot my fedora, and maybe starting Emacs. Yeah, I just tried it last night, and I think it’s cool. It’s somewhere between Vim, Kate, and KDevelop. Yeah, i think of some SMS integration into my copy of kammu-snapshot ..

So, what’s about bussiness 1.0. Business 1.0 artinya ini adalah part pertama aku bakalan ngoceh soal bisnis. A creature I don’t familiar with.
Aduu, jadi ngobrol bisnis gak ya .. rada-rada males juga masalahnya. Awalnya sih hari ini si Isaam nunjukin majalah SDA. Kalo aku liat sih sepertinya bagus. Punya fitur CD gratis, sepertinya layaknya majalah-malajah IT kini. Yang dibahas pun tidak ahnay propetiary, ada juga non propetiary (uh oh, wawancara dengan Richard Stallman). Tapi bisa ditebak, banyak bau-bau sponsor: “Keunggulan Microsoft Visual Studio .NET”, uh oh lihat “Distributed Development”, distributed development dengan sebuah “groupware” .. hmm tidak disebutkan sih dengan apa .. tapi menurutku deskripsinya tentang distributed development-nya terlalu simple, yang dibahas adalah Distributed Development in Executive level .. oh ya lupa, majlah ini memang buat eksekutif. Jadinya, tool yang dipake unutk distributed development itu bakalan sangat terbantu dengan adanya lightweight chat program. Bah, terlalu eksekutif .. aku lebih melihat distributed development, the real one, and had been proven sebagai the way Open Source developer works. KDE team, GNOME fellow, dengan internet, irc, e-mail, VCS tool, and community. Not with Burton from Microsoft.
Oh, I’m a zealot eh. People said I should not hate M$ that much. I’ve tried, but today I think I’ll give M$ a bonus. I’ll hate it more today, it’s special, just for M$. M$ is good, but they’re evil as well. They have pretty nice UI, I like it. But I hate their FUD, hate it so much, too much that almost MS movement will caused me to make a bad prejudice.
Oh shit, I should talk about business, yeah. Business confuses me a lot. it’s pretty cliche, FSF versus Business. Heart versus Pocket? Idealism versus Realism? Is there a way to make them willing to stay under the same roof.
I’m having the perception that business is not selling thing, instead business sells solution, business sells service to exact.
I wonder how Redhat and Fedora rolled out side by side. I wonder if there any action breaking the rule of FS.
I know this article doesn’t have any good flow. I’m jumping like beans.
I hate MS, am I doing wrong?
I hate propetiary business, am I doing wrong? Business is always propetiary? Or is it a matter of the way I should run business. managing what to open and what not to open. If I am running a software or IT based business, hwo far can I be open? What to regard as classified and what is not? How many sins could I be blamed for (upon Richard Stallman or Linus Torvalds, or any other FS or FOSS or Open Source evangelist)? Too many?!
Gee, I can’t run any business then …

Hehehe, kasihan si Isaam kemaren, baru mau nuis first entry buat blog-nya, udah repot2 pake nanya tenang bahsa inggrisnya ke aku (padahal sih aku gk ngerti jgua gitu looh), eh .. ndilalah, listrik mati .. bwahahahahhahha, kasihan si Isaam :p.
BTW, I don’t know much about .NET hype dan segala fitur menggiurkannya (maybe I should take a deeper look on it), tapi tentang apa yang dibicarakna Isaam kemaren, tentang (OLE) Adapter .. saya rasa itu biasa saja :p, cm sekedar loose coupling .. so, nothing special .. dan tentang efeknya yang mempuat pergantian library menjadi seamless .. bukannya di Java ada object factory (blm gitu ngerti soal ini), yang sebenarnya mirip seperti itu .. yaitu berperan sebagai sebuah ‘adapter’ .. a wrapper regardless of the actual class that will be instantiated ..
Tentang ekcepatan eksekusi .NET di MS Platform, mungkin bisa terjawab di sini. Seperti biasa, mungkin ini Microsoft ‘magic’. Kenapa runtime engine atau virtual machine-nya jauh lenbih cepat dari JVM .. mungkin karena how JVM designed and behave is not the same as .NET runtime. Mungkin tidak sepadan jumlah layernya karena JVM didesain unutk mendukung platform free development, sehingga mungkin ada layer bytecode, layer compiler, dan akhirnya eksekutor, dsb (i don’t know, please provide me info if you have :D), sedang .NET di MS mungkin di-build memang di atas MS existing library, yang mungkin .NET runtime-nya hanya sebuah mapper, dari ‘bytecode’ .NET ke local call. I don’t know that either :p …

Strayhorn Update Process
Upgrading 1.2 to 1.5, that was the guide I followed just a few minutes ago to upgrade this blog to Strayhorn. If, you did almost nothing to your current wp, then upgrading to Strayhorn could be pretty much straight forward. Offcourse, first of all you need to deactivate your current plugin, just to make sure that it wont get in the way after updating.
Hey, have I mention that Strayhorn has anti-spam feature built in it. Oh yeah you should check it. We’ll see how it’ll work in couple of days ..
BTW, Happy coming back to Jakarta, baby! I miss u!
